Advanced KIPASS. • Each Concours 14 comes with one key fob (kept in a pocket) and a small card-type key for emergency/backup use. • The card-type key includes an immobilizer function (but no remote activation) and is highly portable, measuring just 1.2 x 1.6 x 0.25 inch. Radial Pump Clutch Master Cylinder.
Braking power on the Yamaha is plenty strong enough—and the ABS threshold high enough—to haul the big FJR down from speed with authority, but the Unified Brake System prefers that you either
measurements at tank level but the FJR must be at least 100 mm narrower around the waist, it is really noticeable, ST seems wide also. Comfort, I've only sat on the GTR in the shop but it definitely feels more comfortable than the FJR and ST, especially the reach to the bars, the ST is. probably on a par with the FJR.
Re: BMW K1600GT vs. Kawasaki Concours 14 vs. Triumph Trophy SE vs. Yamaha FJR1300 R. The other tests I posted has 2 up impressions. Probably have to wait for owners to do towing impressions. Having ridden the trophy, it has at least if not more torque and power as the ST11 and ST13 at the same revs and road speed.
The Kawasaki’s 1352cc Four has the shortest stroke here, and made 135 hp at 9100 rpm on the dyno. The FJR comes up about 8 ponies less at its peak but produces it at lower revs and with almost identical torque, 88-89 foot-pounds. Variable valve timing helps keeps the Kawasaki’s torque plateau fairly flat in spite of those 84mm pistons.

Mar 11, 2009. #25. My take on it is that the FJR is a large sport bike that comes with a full fairing, hard bags, and room enough for a passenger to ride in comfort. There are quite a few first generation FZ1 guys who have since graduated to the Yamaha bagger.
Yamaha did the same thing back in '03 for the FJR1300. The new Connie is, at the heart, a ZX-14. In a brief generalization, the Concours takes from the Ninja ram air, inverted forks, wave brake rotors, radial-mount calipers and master cylinder, aluminum monocoque frame and modified-for-a shaft-drive ZX-14 10-spoke wheels.
